MedX Rehabilitation

MedX rehabilitation is a specific machine-based rehab program. MedX rehab is designed for either neck related issues or lower back complaints. MedX is able to objectively track progress in weight and range of motion. In a typical MedX session, the patient is able to perform 15 - 20 repetitions. This will induce a tolerable fatigue into the muscles in the targeted area. If a patient is unable to perform 15 - 20 reps then the weight or range of motion needs to be reduced. MedX allows the patient to increase by intervals of 3 lbs which provides the micro increments necessary to continue achieving muscular strength improvements.

The primary goal of this rehab program is to increase range of motion, increase muscular strength, decrease pain, and return the patient to normal function. The gold standard for the MedX protocol is to be performed 2x per week for 8 weeks but many patients see significant improvement before this bench mark. This allows the area of dysfunction to undergo muscular hypertrophy (strength/size increase).

MedX Rehab is beneficial for:

  1. Chronic neck and lower back pain.

  2. Loss of neck or lower back curvature.

  3. Disc bulge or herniations.

  4. Facet syndrome

  5. Postural syndrome.
