Chiropractic Techniques
Chiropractic has been around since 1895. Over the years, there has been the development of many different types of chiropractic treatments. Many of these treatments became so popular and beneficial they even earned their own name in the field. Here a list of the most common chiropractic techniques a person will see.
Diversified (hands-on) - traditional chiropractic adjustments where the doctor applies a thrust to the joint with their hands. The patient will typically get a click, pop, or crack with the adjustment.
Thompson Drop (drop piece) - moveable table pieces are used to apply thrusts or adjustments to joints usually in a less rotational aspect compared to diversified
Cox Flexion Distraction - repetition stretching to the joints of the spine is done to decrease pressure on the joints and discs of the spine.
Biophysics (Advanced biostructural correction) - X-ray based analysis is used to determine where adjustments are to be performed and is usually accompanied by blocking or exercises to help the spinal curvatures
Gonstead - x-ray analysis is accompanied by very specific hands on adjusting
Activator - light force technique that is less invasion and uses a spring loaded adjusting tool
Torque Release Technique - similar to activator with a spring loaded adjusting tool but also adds rotation.
Tonal - light pressure is held and accompanied by breathing exercises
